It’s one of the most common questions we get: “What’s the weather like right now?”
Often followed by a worried look at the forecast: “It says it’s going to rain every day — should I be concerned?”

The short answer? No — absolutely not.
Curaçao enjoys sunshine for more than 345 days a year. While rain is part of island life, it’s nothing to stress about. Here’s why.

Rain in Curaçao: Local, Light, and Gone Before You Know It

Yes, it does rain in Curaçao from time to time. But forecasts can be misleading. They often predict daily showers that never actually show up. And when it does rain, it’s usually:

  • Brief (just a few minutes)

  • Localized (raining in Jan Thiel but sunny in Westpunt)

  • Refreshing (a welcome break from the tropical heat)

Our showers tend to fall early in the morning or in the evening — rarely disrupting your beach day or island adventure.

When Does It Rain the Most?

  • Driest months: February through June — sometimes weeks without a single drop

  • Some rain possible: January, July, August, and September

  • Wettest months: October, November, and December — but even then, the sun is never far away

So, if you see rain in the forecast, don’t cancel your plans. Bring your sunglasses, maybe a light poncho — and enjoy Curaçao in all its sunny glory.
